Havertys Furniture is hiring Interior Design Consultants in Durham, NC. You will assist customers in creating dynamic home décor, offering in-home, in-store, and virtual consultations to understand their needs and space.

You will craft floor plans and renderings, supporting sales with design expertise to close deals. The role offers uncapped commission with a guaranteed income feature, paid training, and opportunities to advance within a 140-year heritage company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field or 2–4 years of related experience
• ASID certification preferred
• Experience with Room Planner software is beneficial and proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to create rooms and spaces, recommending furniture and accessories to achieve a designed look
• Offer in-home, in-store, and virtual consultations to understand customer needs and spaces
• Create floor plans and photorealistic renderings of Havertys furniture in clients’ homes
• Assist Sales Consultants in closing transactions with design knowledge
• Coordinate with customers during home visits and final presentations to review items, pricing, and delivery
• Provide feedback to Sales Consultant and Branch Manager after house visits and presentations
• Support creation of special-order SKUs to boost sales and average tickets
• Maintain knowledge of furniture styles and products and help meet sales metrics
