Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Design Consultant to greet customers, assess project needs, and craft creative design concepts aligned with client styles and budgets. You will educate customers on materials like tile, wood, and stone, and guide them from consultation to installation while building lasting relationships.

The role requires 1 year of design or retail experience, a design degree is a plus, and strong math, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy and timely follow-up, using company tools.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation and meet sales goals.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff.
• Stay informed on current design trends and utilize design applications such as Salesforce and Online Design Scheduler.
• Perform other duties as assigned
