Job summary

Floor & Decor is hiring a Design Consultant to deliver seamless design services, meeting with customers to understand project needs and create concepts aligned with style, lifestyle, and budget.

The role requires 1+ year in design or retail, strong communication, and basic math and computer skills. Experience with flooring products is a plus, with opportunities for growth and compliance with store standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Design degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematics.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge including Office Suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and support in-store design needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele.
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice for projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional design solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by sharing best practices.
• Engage with current design trends and utilize design apps.
