Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Designers meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate on requirements, and build a creative design concept that blends personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum eligibility includes 1 year of interior design or retail/sales experience; degree in design is a plus; basic math; strong communication; and proficiency

Qualifications

• 1+ year interior design or retail/sales experience
• Design degree is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic math
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication; basic computer skills
• Internal candidates must have 12 months in a design consultant role

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele via networking and referrals
• Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential/commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely follow-up
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff
• Keep up with current design trends and use of design tools
