Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Payroll Leader for a complex multi-state operation in Nashville. You will provide hands-on leadership for payroll processing, ensure compliance with payroll tax rules, mentor staff, and partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting to resolve issues.

The role requires 7+ years in progressive payroll, strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, and advanced UKG knowledge.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Extensive experience managing multi-state payroll.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, filings, and compliance.
• Experience processing high-volume, full-cycle payroll.
• CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple states.
• Manage and mentor payroll team members while ensuring payroll accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, audits, reconciliations, and year-end processes.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and Accounting to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.
• Utilize UKG to maintain efficient payroll operations and reporting.
