• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations
• Experience with fixed assets, capital projects, CIP accounting
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis; hands-on in a high-volume environment

• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, automation, and reporting workflows
• Mentor accounting team members and partner with operations on accounting matters

Interim Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller

Our client, a hospitality and recreation organization, is seeking an Interim Accounting Manager / Controller to oversee accounting operations during a period of transition.

This role is primarily on-site in the San Francisco Peninsula area. This engagement is anticipated to last 2-3 months, with the potential to extend/convert.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and high-volume transaction processing
• Lead the monthly close and prepare financial reporting packages, reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules
• Manage accruals and ensure the appropriate accounting treatment of operating expenses and capital expenditures
• Oversee fixed assets, depreciation, construction-in-progress schedules, and accounting for capital projects
• Coordinate annual audit, tax, and compliance activities with external service providers
• Prepare financial forecasts and analyze budgets, operational trends, and business performance to support leadership decisions
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, automation, and financial reporting workflows
• Mentor accounting team members and partner with operational leaders on accounting and financial matters

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar accounting leader
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Experience with fixed assets, capital projects, construction-in-progress accounting, and capitalization assessments
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills, with demonstrated ability to lead teams and operate hands‑on in a high-volume environment
