Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks an Interim Accounts Payable & Expense Operations Lead to guide the AP/expense functions during a systems and process transformation. The role is hybrid in San Francisco with in-office presence required 3 days per week and runs through January 2027.

You will oversee AP operations, vendor controls, and expense management while supporting ERP migration efforts, month-end close, and audit requests.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive AP and expense operations experience with senior ownership.
• Direct Navan experience including expense workflows, reporting, and platform ops.
• Experience supporting high-volume travel and expense, corporate card, reimbursements.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, vendor controls, reconciliations, accruals.
• Experience supporting an ERP implementation or migration, preferably NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounts payable operations, including invoice review and payment prep.
• Provide day-to-day direction and quality review to an AP processor.
• Administer travel and expense platform, troubleshoot issues, manage config changes.
• Manage employee expense and reimbursement activities and policy compliance.
• Prepare recurring spend and compliance reporting for Finance.
• Support month-end AP close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Coordinate vendor onboarding and payment controls; verify banking information.
• Lead year-end vendor reporting activities and filing preparation.
• Support ERP implementation and procure-to-pay initiatives via testing and data validation.
• Assist with audits, process documentation, and internal controls improvements.
