Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks an Interim Inventory Accounting Manager to strengthen inventory and cost accounting during a period of growth and systems transformation in the San Francisco East Bay. The role is on-site five days per week for approximately 12 months.

The candidate will oversee GAAP-compliant inventory accounting, standard costing, close activities, and cost-systems enhancements, partnering with Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A to align reporting with operations and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in inventory or cost accounting.
• Strong inventory and cost accounting experience in consumer products, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive environments.
• Deep understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, reserves, COGS, and close activities.
• Advanced ERP, Excel, and data-analysis capabilities; experience supporting audits and GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory per U.S. GAAP.
• Manage inventory valuation, standard costing, COGS reporting, reserves, and related journal entries.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory close activities with reconciliations and roll-forwards.
• Analyze variances and communicate actionable findings to stakeholders.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and FP&A to align reporting with inventory movement.
