Job summary

MISO is seeking an Engineer II – Generation Interconnection to support the generation interconnection process, helping new energy resources connect to the electric grid safely, reliably, and efficiently.

You will conduct power system studies, collaborate with interconnection customers, transmission owners, and internal teams to address technical challenges and move projects forward. A base salary of $109,000–$134,000 USD yearly accompanies a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in qualifying engineering discipline.
• At least two years of experience in power system planning, operations, or related field.
• Experience with power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT, or VSAT.

Responsibilities

• Lead critical power system studies including interconnection and HVDC scenarios.
• Support generation interconnection by conducting affected system studies and proposing solutions.
• Collaborate with Transmission Owners and internal teams to influence project decisions.
• Represent MISO in committees, task forces, and working groups on industry challenges.
• Apply engineering judgment to develop timely, compliant solutions aligned with standards.
