Job summary

UVM Health - UVM Medical Center seeks a Transportation Communication Specialist to coordinate inter-hospital transports within the University of Vermont Health region, including ground and air for patients. You will relay information between EMS agencies, referring providers, consumers, and UVMMC's Emergency Department with accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Two years ambulance or emergency dispatcher experience preferred.
• Six months to one year EMS experience preferred.
• Experience in service-related healthcare and ability to work in a high-stress environment.
• Working knowledge of radio communications and computer dispatch.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inter-hospital transports by ground and air within the UVMMC region.
• Relay accurate information between EMS agencies, referring providers, consumers and the ED.
• Maintain knowledge of radio communications and computer dispatch systems.
• Collaborate with the RTC Coordination Nurse and RTC Specialist.
• Ensure safe, rapid and efficient patient transfers.
