Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• NREMT and licensed EMT/Advanced EMT/Paramedic within 2 years, OR Certification as Emergency Medical Dispatcher and Certified Flight Communicator within 12 months.
• Two years as ambulance or emergency dispatcher preferred.
• Six months to one year EMS experience preferred.
• Experience in service-related healthcare with strong customer interaction in high-paced, high-stress settings.
• Working knowledge of radio communications and computer dispatch.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appropriate, safe, rapid inter-hospital transport (ground and air) for UV Health region.
• Relay information smoothly and accurately between EMS agencies, referring providers, consumers, and the Emergency Department at UVMMC.
