Job summary

The Transportation Management Center Operator position in West Virginia involves working within an Intelligent Transportation Fusion Center to monitor traffic, manage incidents, and coordinate communications to keep roadways safe and flowing.

Under supervision, you will receive training in traffic detection, motorist information systems, incident assessment, and radio communications. Shifts may rotate, with callback during emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
• One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as an emergency telecommunicator or equivalent in an electronic traffic management center environment.
• One year of experience in radio communications/dispatching, customer service work, information system help desk work, or telemarketing.

Responsibilities

• Operate traffic management workstations to control traffic systems and minimize congestion.
• Perform clerical/technical duties and support communications during incidents and emergencies.
