Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to prep complex models across multiple design disciplines including architecture, structure, transportation, and MEP. You will coordinate federated, clash-checked models across offices and lead early resolution of conflicts.

Based in a US office, you will set CADD/BIM standards, mentor staff, and ensure interoperability across Autodesk/Bentley toolsets while supporting project lifecycle deliverables and client coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design and MEP.
• Model coordination and clash detection using Navisworks and guiding cross-disciplinary resolution.
• Establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates and workflows.
• Mentor and guide production staff across geographies to build capability.
• Act as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator throughout project lifecycle for coordination.
• Crosscheck drawings for consistency per Q/C standards.
• Provide CADD/technical support, model health management and interoperability across Autodesk and Bentley tools.
• Review manufacturers'/fabricators' prints to aid design documents.
• Determine material needs and perform calculations per standards.
• Develop design criteria and support planning and field assignments.
• Develop BIM Execution Plans and advise on LOD and LOE.
• Interface with clients, agencies and subconsultants on deliverable requirements.
