Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an experienced Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to lead cross-discipline BIM coordination across architecture, structures, and MEP on transit and multimodal projects. You will integrate models, run clash detections, and ensure standards compliance within the Autodesk/CADD ecosystem.

You will mentor staff, develop BIM plans, and interface with clients and subconsultants to meet data handoff requirements and project deliverables.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
12 years of related experience in BIM/CADD coordination for transit or multimodal projects.

Responsibilities

Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated model.
Model coordination & clash detection — run clash detection in Navisworks and lead resolution across disciplines.
Standards & governance — establish and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows across offices, built on Autodesk stack and compliant with governing transit agency and DOT design criteria.
Mentorship & guidance — mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
Acts as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for projects to ensure coordination between design teams.
Performs crosscheck of drawings for consistency with guidelines and QC standards.
Performs CADD/technical support tasks and manages model health and interoperability between Autodesk and Bentley toolsets.
Reviews manufacturers' or fabricators' prints to aid design documents.
Determines material needs and performs calculations per firm standards.
Establishes design criteria for assigned phases and supports field assignments.
