Job summary

HDR is seeking a Business Class Director for Integrated Watershed Management. This leadership role directs technical capabilities and oversees service lines in watershed management, water supply, groundwater and water quality across HDR's markets.

The IWM BCD will mentor technical leaders, drive risk management, and coordinate with market sectors, business groups and operations to deliver high-impact projects while engaging in client development and professional organizations. Travel ~35%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• For leadership roles, must maintain professional/Architecture/Engineering registration.
• Experience managing diverse teams.
• Ability to collaborate with other directors, managers and marketing on cross-functional efforts.
• Commitment to HDR values and quality.
• Active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Coordinate with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead risk management and ensure quality standards and delivery expectations.
• Drive QA/QC processes and coordinate with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development of technical tools, standards, and techniques.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and leadership teams.
• Foster teamwork and communication across offices and groups.
• Monitor direction, policies, QA, and staffing to workload allocation.
• Recruit and train to build production capacity.
• Support client development and project pursuits.
• Represent HDR in industry organizations and events.
• Oversee Technical Networking Groups and lessons learned discussions.
• Monitor performance and initiate corrective actions.
