J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. invites applications for an Integrated Capacity Solutions Intern (January 2027) in West Des Moines, IA. This part‑time internship provides hands‑on exposure to transportation brokerage operations and carrier negotiations as part of a fast‑paced supply chain team.

Under supervision, you will learn about market dynamics, margins, and how technology supports load management and service execution. Eligible students gain real‑world experience during the summer term.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Preference for junior or senior level students.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry.
• Participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement.
• Understand market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and margin goals.
• Observe and practice liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers to minimize cost and improve service.
• Learn about technology and tools used to streamline workflows and carrier load management.
