This part-time role supports transportation brokerage operations under supervision, gaining exposure to market dynamics, carrier negotiations, and load management tools to deliver cost-efficient, high-service execution. Required to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and able to work 40 hours per week during summer; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer.
• This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry.
• Become involved and participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement to uphold service expectations.
• Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and contribute to revenue and margin goals.
• Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers: gain competence in how service failures are proactively communicated to minimize cost and operational inefficiencies while providing best-in-class service.
• Learn about the technology and tools J.B. Hunt leverages to streamline workflows, enable carrier access to load management, and promote efficiency.
