BrightSpring Health Services’ Amerita division in Houston, TX is seeking an Intake Coordinator to manage infusion therapy referrals, verify patient information, and coordinate pre-authorization with payers. The role requires meticulous data entry and clear cross-team communication.

The position supports authorizations, patient coverage notifications, confidentiality, and a compliant intake workflow, Monday–Friday 9:00am–6:00pm, in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred
• Minimum two years of experience collecting referral information in healthcare
• Experience with payer types including Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance

Responsibilities

• Takes infusion therapy referrals from referral sources
• Ensures intake forms are complete and within Amerita's scope
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the system
• Communicates with other departments regarding referrals status
• Notifies patients about coverage and payment responsibilities
• Verifies which insurers have active contracts with Amerita
• Ensures insurance verification and authorization before handing to Pharmacist
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures that all intake forms are complete, clear and within Amerita's scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the computer system.
• Communicates with other departments regarding the status of referrals.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures that insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place prior to giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.

Qualifications

• Experience working with all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance companies
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
