Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking an Intake Care Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, providers, and care teams. You will manage referrals, gather information, and coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth onboarding and timely care.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, scheduling and documentation, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering exceptional service in a healthcare environment. This role may involve remote work with standard healthcare hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare, medical office, pharmacy, home health, or related healthcare support environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, responding to calls and providing timely, professional support throughout the intake process.
• Help patients understand next steps, gather required information, and connect them with the appropriate care teams to support a positive patient experience.
• Handle inbound and outbound communication with patients, providers, hospitals, physician offices, and healthcare facilities regarding referrals and care coordination.
• Support timely patient onboarding by gathering, reviewing, and entering referral information accurately into company systems.
• Receive and triage referral packets, medical orders, and supporting documentation to the appropriate teams for processing.
• Coordinate home health services based on patient needs, geographic location, and insurance requirements.
