Job summary

The Ranch at Dove Tree is seeking an Intake Coordinator at our Lubbock, Texas facility to manage front desk intake, triage inquiries, and pre-registration tasks. You will verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with providers to ensure smooth admissions processes.

The role requires strong communication, assessment, and coordination skills, with a background in healthcare admissions and knowledge of community resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in healthcare admissions preferred.
• Experience in mental health or substance use disorder fields preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal and interviewing and assessment skills.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission assessments.
• Interviews client, family members and/or collateral sources to assure intake criteria are met.
• Reviews prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.
• Generates, guides, and leads discussions with referral sources for client support and development.
• Assesses family needs for mediation, sober escort and intervention and determines appropriate resources.
• Decides which Interventionist and facility to recommend, dates and travel.
• Works with other departments and external parties to ensure timely admission of clients.
• Documents daily all activities, contacts, appointments, and events in the CRM.
• Maintains documentation involved with admissions process.
• Verifies benefits for all clients on private admissions.
• Screens calls and arranges transportation for admission.
• Maintains a waiting list for admissions and contacts candidates.
