Job summary

SIHB is seeking an Intake Screener to serve as the primary contact between residential treatment agencies and patients during admission eligibility. You will explain referrals, review incoming referrals for admission suitability, verify documentation, request additional information, and work closely with counselors to ensure a smooth intake experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in administrative, intake, admissions, or customer service roles.
• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, referral sources, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Establish and cultivate relationships with detox and residential treatment agencies.
• Coordinate detox services and bed dates with patients and facilities prior to admission.
• Assess financial eligibility and verify insurance coverage.
• Collect documentation required to support pre-authorization requests.
• Document assessments and referrals in the tracking tool.
