Job summary

Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital in Marysville, WA is seeking an Intake Clinician for an on-site role. You will respond to referrals, document inquiries, and assist with discharge planning under the Director of A&R.

You will assess patients, arrange admissions, and support the case management program. The position requires a Master’s degree in a human relations field and Washington licensure as a mental health professional.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a human relations field is required.
• Licensed to practice in the State of Washington as a mental health professional (Social Worker, Counselor, or RN with MHP).
• Working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam, as well as Addiction and Recovery field.

Responsibilities

• Respond to referrals and requests for services and information.
• Provide technical assistance to discharge planning and support the case management program.
• Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
• Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
• Notify and assist on-call doctor with patient interviews; obtain admissions approvals.
• Complete admission paperwork and maintain an intake log.
• Make follow-up calls to patients who miss appointments.
• Provide counseling and guest relations to employees as needed.
