Job summary

Norco is seeking a Medical Customer Service professional to support the Central Support Insurance Verification team in Meridian, Idaho. The role focuses on verifying insurance coverage, confirming benefits, obtaining required authorizations, and processing new intakes with accuracy and empathy.

You will interact with customers, maintain records in the electronic system, and strive to meet personal targets while providing clear, timely answers to billing questions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Good typing and 10-key skills.
• Accurately enter data into computer and acquire a working knowledge of any software applications applicable to the position.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to work with diverse clientele.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Confirm benefits and covered service.
• Obtain required pre-authorizations or referrals.
• Identify customers’ needs, clarify information, research every issue and provide a solution.
• Keep records of all customer conversations in Norco’s electronic system in a comprehensible way.
• Meet personal qualitative and quantitative targets.
• Answer billing and other customer questions or direct customer to proper billing personnel.
• Process customer orders and input customer orders into the computer.
• Initiate and complete new intakes and assist in setting up new accounts where applicable.
• Route patient information to appropriate personnel/departments as necessary to order, deliver and bill medical products and services.
• Arrange necessary referral to community agencies or for those traveling, to assist in continuity of care.
