Job summary

Verus Specialty Insurance, a Berkley Company, is hiring an Underwriting Support Technician in Scottsdale, AZ. This in-office role supports underwriting workflows, submissions, renewals, notices, and audits, coordinating with underwriters, brokers, and vendors to ensure accurate processing and timely service.

You will maintain records, identify bottlenecks, and contribute to process improvements while delivering high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degree preferred
• Prior admin support or office experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Effective written and verbal communication with brokers, vendors, Underwriters, and internal partners
• In-office, in-person position

Responsibilities

• Review, triage, route, and process requests through service channels with timely assignment and escalation
• Review and process underwriting submissions, verify documents, and enter data accurately
• Establish renewal setup workflows across product lines
• Process notices in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate inspections and premium audits with vendors and Underwriting Assistants
• Monitor workflows and queues to support timely processing and SLAs
• Collaborate with underwriters, brokers, vendors, and internal partners for service delivery
• Maintain records and notes according to standards
• Identify discrepancies and elevate issues as needed
• Support continuous improvement of workflows and efficiency
• Perform other duties to support departmental objectives
