IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Underwriting Specialist based in Scottsdale, AZ or Pasadena, CA, with potential for remote options. The role focuses on underwriting excess casualty business, building relationships with wholesale partners, and managing a profitable middle-market book. Candidates should possess at least 8 years of experience, with expertise in Excess and Surplus.

This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office work Monday through Wednesday and allowing remote work on Thursdays and Fridays. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including healthcare programs and numerous PTO days.

Qualifications

• At least 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to creatively utilize coverage features to achieve objectives.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring VISA sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of business within assigned authority.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with agents and brokers.
• Review applications and assess risk to determine appropriate terms.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners.
