Shannon Kuhn Insurance is seeking a licensed, detail-oriented, and highly organized Insurance Sales Assistant to join our team in Covington, Louisiana.
This position works closely with our Senior Sales Associate and plays an important role in ensuring new customers have a smooth transition to our agency. While our sales team focuses on generating and closing new business, you will be responsible for helping ensure the details behind those sales are completed accurately and on time.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys customer service, organization, problem-solving, and following a task all the way through to completion.

Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be supporting the Senior Sales Associate by managing post-sale and new-customer onboarding activities, including:
- Review new policies for outstanding signatures, documents, payments, inspections, and underwriting requirements.
- Proactively identify missing information or potential issues, coordinate with customers, underwriting, lenders, and agency team members as necessary, and follow through until outstanding items are resolved.
- Maintain accurate customer and policy information and thoroughly document customer contacts, pending items, and follow-up activities in eAgent and applicable agency systems.
- Assist customers with home inspections, underwriting requirements, Drivewise enrollment, and other new-policy requirements.
- Monitor mortgagee-billed policies for payment and provide lenders or mortgage companies with evidence and copies of coverage as needed.
- Guide customers through the process of canceling policies with their previous insurance carrier.
- Send thank-you cards to new customers as part of our onboarding process.
- Contribute to a team-focused environment by assisting with incoming calls, promptly returning messages, welcoming customers, processing payments, and providing support with policy documents, ID cards, billing inquiries, and other routine customer service needs.
- Perform additional sales-support, customer-service, and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active Louisiana Property & Casualty or Personal Lines license required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant insurance, sales, or customer service experience required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple customers, deadlines, and follow-up activities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with professional phone, email, and customer service etiquette.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and follows tasks through to completion.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues, think resourcefully, and make sound decisions.
- Coachable and eager to learn, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technology, insurance systems, processes, and changing priorities.
