Job summary

Markel is seeking an Associate Product Development Specialist to develop insurance policy forms and endorsements for the Markel US Insurance Division. You will draft related documents, research coverage forms, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree and 0–2 years of experience in insurance form development, with strong analytical and interpersonal skills and proficiency in Excel and Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 0-2 years of experience in development of insurance coverage forms preferred.
• Ability to conceptualize and create insurance forms and endorsements.
• Ability to interpret state laws and regulations as applicable to the insurance policy life cycle.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal ability.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Technically proficient in all standard business software including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Develop insurance policy forms for new and revised coverages conveying underwriting intent, market competitiveness, and clear claims language.
• Identify and confirm regulatory compliance.
• Prepare documentation for product filings and State Department of Insurance requests.
• Assist and share knowledge with PRS colleagues.
• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Participate in special projects as requested.
