Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. seeks an Insurance Producer II - Commercial to serve as a key relationship manager for First Mid Insurance Group in Des Moines, IA.

The role focuses on securing new business, retaining existing property and casualty clients, and acting as a commercial lines broker. You will meet aggressive sales targets, develop new prospects, gather underwriting information, and deliver compelling proposals to win business while supporting client retention and account service.

Qualifications

Insurance Producer II - Commercial

Location: Des Moines, IA

Serves as key relationship manager for First Mid Insurance Group and responsible for securing new business and retaining existing property and casualty insurance clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Serves as commercial lines insurance broker.
• Manages significant book of business resulting from personal efforts.
• Regularly meets or exceeds aggressive annual sales targets.
• May have CSR or other administrative staff assigned to assist with account retention or new business development efforts (as approved by management).
• Generates prospects for new business including those through First Mid channels.
• Meets with the prospects to build a relationship, gather underwriting information, deliver proposal, and win the business.
• Primarily responsible for relationship management, new business development and client account retention.
• Serves as backup to administrative staff in meeting current customer needs.
• Develop and maintain a working relationship with team members and various carrier representatives as needed.
• Complete training and maintain licensing associated with job function
• Performs related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• The position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent as well as prior successful sales and account management experience. Proven sales success in insurance industry as well as a minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance production required.

• Very strong interpersonal skills including ability to sell
• Strong oral and written communication skills including computer literacy.
• Very strong analytical skills including the ability to identify customer needs & insurance solutions.
• May be required to work earlier or later than the normal workday.
• May require work outside the office, extended hours or customer visits.

At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission).
