Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Process Risk Director in the United States to help clients understand and address business risks across risk, compliance and controls. You will lead risk assessments, design internal controls, and develop remediation plans while driving business development and client relationships.

The role requires extensive experience in internal controls, SOX programs, and cross-industry consulting, with a focus on delivering strategic risk management solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 10 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level.
• Certification preferred: CPA, CISA, CISSP, CIA or CISM.
• Experience establishing and operating Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance programs and Internal Audit functions.
• Ability to develop and expand relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Experience participating in engagement pursuits, and preparing impactful materials in RFIs/RFPs.
• Strong supervisory, leadership development and collaboration skills.
• Experience with data analytics and visualization.
• Experience with SAP/Workday/Oracle/Infor preferred.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review processes and internal controls to assess risk and control effectiveness across the three lines of defense.
• Develop impactful recommendations and assist with remediation activities.
• Lead business development activities, proposals, and client management.
• Conduct entity and process risk assessments and develop internal audit plans.
• Assist with SOX compliance programs and internal audit functions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams at all levels.
• Manage engagements, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality reviews.
• Generate new sales opportunities through client networks and thought leadership.
• Coach and develop team members to foster growth and high performance.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and billed hours.
