Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises seeks a Claims Litigation Attorney to counsel policyholders and the Exchange in all legal proceedings, including trial and arbitration, defending personal injury and property damage lawsuits and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. The position requires a JD, 4–6 years of insurance defense experience, and a solid understanding of insurance contracts and trial procedures.

You will develop discovery plans, argue motions, negotiate settlements, and communicate case updates

Qualifications

• JD required.
• 4–6 years insurance defense experience required.
• Solid understanding of insurance contracts required.
• Good grasp of trial procedures and the rules of evidence.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes cases to determine facts and develop legal theories for defense of lawsuits.
• Prepares for and defends all court proceedings including trials; prepares for mediations/arbitrations.
• Communicates case overview and strategy to management and claims representatives.
• Participates in negotiation and settlement of cases.
• Assists in handling other attorneys’ files and performs other duties as assigned.
• Evaluates cases for liability and exposure and develops legal strategy with Claims.
