Job summary

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. is seeking an instrument and electrical technician to support construction, plant facilities, and field operations. The role repairs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains control systems and equipment at gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

The position requires PLC/DCS expertise, field experience, and strong problem-solving abilities for predictive and preventative maintenance. On-call, safety focus, and potential travel are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in instrumentation preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving history.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook and Word.
• Experience troubleshooting, designing, or configuring control solutions (In Touch Wonderware/FactoryTalk/RSLogix/DeltaV).
• Knowledge of NEC 192/193/195; OSHA 1910 basics.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and maintain SCADA, plant, pipeline, and equipment components.
• Maintain pneumatic and intelligent instruments and motor control gear.
• Maintain PLCs or DCS systems and process/safety controls.
• Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, P&IDs).
• Test, calibrate, and document control devices per regulatory requirements.
• Support on-call rotations and safety initiatives.
• Provide work direction and mentorship to team members and contractors.
• Report accurately in written and electronic formats.
