Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for manufacturing and process facilities in Manassas, VA. You will lead instrumentation, automation, and safety systems, working with multidisciplinary teams.

You will design P&IDs, wiring diagrams, select instruments, review vendor submittals, and develop SOO, collaborating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
EIT certification is required.
6+ years in industrial control systems engineering and design.
Experience with PLC-based systems and industrial networks; knowledge of NFPA 70/UL 508A.

Responsibilities

Participate in the development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
Design facility control systems, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM), and SCADA.
Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams.
Perform sizing and selection of instruments, control devices, and valves, including data sheets.
Review vendor submittals and design deliverables for compliance with codes and standards.
Initiate and develop Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents.
Participate in technical and business presentations with clients and internal teams.
