Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for complex manufacturing environments. You will lead instrumentation, automation, and safety systems across high-tech facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a ABET-accredited degree, EIT certification, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency with PLC-based systems (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related ABET-accredited discipline.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• 6+ years experience in industrial control systems engineering and design.
• Experience designing PLC-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Modicon, Siemens).
• Understanding of NFPA 70 and UL 508A.
• Strong communication, organization and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
• Design facility control systems including fire alarms, chemical controls, TGM, and SCADA.
• Create P&IDs, loop drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves with data sheets.
• Review vendor submittals and ensure code compliance.
• Create Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents and present to clients.
