Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for complex manufacturing and process facilities. You will lead instrumentation, automation, and safety systems that support high-tech environments.

Ideal candidates hold a ABET-accredited degree, EIT, 6+ years in industrial control systems, and hands-on PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Modicon, Siemens) with NFPA 70/UL 508A knowledge.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• EIT certification required.
• Minimum 6 years in industrial control systems engineering and design.
• Experience with PLC-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Modicon, Siemens).
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and UL 508A standards.

Responsibilities

• Design facility control systems, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, TGM, and SCADA.
• Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams.
• Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves; prepare data sheets.
• Review vendor submittals to meet client requirements and codes.
• Create Sequence of Operations (SOO) documents.
• Engage in client/internals presentations and technical discussions.
