Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design and implement advanced control systems for high-tech manufacturing and processing facilities. The role focuses on instrumentation, automation, and safety systems across multidisciplinary teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and an EIT certification, with 6+ years in industrial control systems.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• EIT certification required.
• 6+ years in industrial control systems engineering/design.
• Experience with PLC systems and industrial networks.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 and UL 508A.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process work.
• Design facility control systems, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, TGM, and SCADA.
• Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves; prepare data sheets.
• Review vendor submittals for compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Create Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents.
• Present technical/bid information to clients and teams.
