Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineering candidate for a Summer 2027 start. You will design and support process control systems for power and oil & gas facilities, and prepare procurement specs for I&C equipment.

You will develop P&IDs, I/O lists, control panels, and documentation, while participating in PHA and design reviews. Hybrid work schedule with in-office 3 days/week and potential travel to sites.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with strong control systems background.
• Ability to apply I&C engineering principles to project design deliverables and technical problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel and Access.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Exceptional work habits and a resourceful attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design and support process control systems and prepare procurement specifications for I&C equipment.
• Develop P&IDs, I/O lists, control panel designs, and associated documentation.
• Contribute to cause & effect matrices, control narratives, network architecture, and cable schedules.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews.
• Assist with travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for coordination and verification.
