Job summary

The City of Tucson's Water Department is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Technician to install, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments including PLC/SCADA systems.

You will travel to water facilities, perform maintenance, set up sensors, verify data accuracy, and document results in CMMS. A2 year Associate degree and PLC/HMI experience preferred; valid Arizona driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, Ladder Logic, PLCs, and communications.
• Experience with instrumentation and control systems in water utilities.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and P&ID drawings.
• Valid Arizona driver license required; driving experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Travels to various city locations to maintain instrumentation and control devices (flow meters, transducers, level sensors, water quality monitors).
• Calibrates instruments and conducts functional tests on PLC control systems, sensors and telemetry data.
• Diagnoses malfunctions and performs repairs or updates to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
• Interacts with SCADA systems to monitor operations and ensure data accuracy.
