Job summary

Root Capital is seeking an Account Specialist, Institutional Partnerships to support the PRM team with systems, data stewardship, and business development tasks. You will maintain the IP knowledge base, run audits, and surface trends across funders to aid decision making.

You will coordinate logistics for meetings and travels, prepare briefs, and collaborate with Development Operations, Grants Management, and Finance to ensure smooth workflows.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in operations, project coordination, or CRM/database administration in nonprofit, development, or client-service environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Advanced proficiency with complex CRM databases (Salesforce preferred) including data entry, reporting and analysis.
• Comfort working with quantitative and qualitative data and storytelling from findings.
• Experience coordinating logistics for travel, conferences, or multi-stakeholder events.
• Ability to apply a defined taxonomy consistently across many records and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own Salesforce logging quality across IP accounts and classify interactions using the team taxonomy.
• Support tracking of monthly/quarterly lead indicators and flag gaps to PRMs.
• Analyze account activity to identify dormant or high-potential funders and surface follow-up needs.
• Conduct prospect and market research and log findings in Salesforce and Box.
• Conduct monthly audits of IP Accounts and Opportunities and recommend improvements.
