Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy is seeking part-time chess instructors to teach elementary students after school in a small-group setting. Earn $55 per hour for dynamic lessons, with training provided and flexibility for after-school schedules.

You will work with 5-11 year-olds, guiding basic piece movement, checkmate concepts, and strategic thinking while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chess rules and basic strategy, or willingness to learn.
• Experience or interest in teaching elementary-age children; classroom experience is a plus.
• Reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use our curriculum to teach basic rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Store and maintain teaching equipment and materials.
