Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy seeks a part-time Chess Instructor to teach elementary students in a small-group setting after school. You will receive thorough paid training and work with 10-20 kids using our curriculum to illustrate chess rules and strategies, while promoting good sportsmanship.

The position offers a starting pay of 55 USD per hour, with flexible after-school hours and the chance to make a positive difference in children's lives. A reliable vehicle for transportation is helpful.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the rules and basic strategy of chess, or willing to learn.
• Experience or interest in working with elementary-age children; classroom experience is a plus.
• Have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use our curriculum to demonstrate and communicate basic chess rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Store and maintain all teaching equipment and materials.
