Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy is seeking an After School Teacher to guide elementary students (ages 5-11) in chess after school. You will follow our curriculum in a small-group setting and help kids learn through structured lessons and practice games.

The role is part-time during after-school hours, with paid training and a flexible schedule. You will manage classrooms, promote sportsmanship, and assist with setup and cleanup after activities.

Qualifications

• Must be available at least 3 weekdays during the school year between 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
• Have a reliable vehicle for transportation
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment
• Ability to learn and use new software tools

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students
• Use our curriculum to demonstrate and effectively communicate all of the basic rules (piece movement, how to castle, check, checkmate, etc) and strategy
• Promote good sportsmanship among students
• Responsibly store and maintain all teaching equipment and materials
• Supervise parent pickup
