Job summary

Ernst Instruments in Sparta, NJ, is a premier distributor and manufacturer of process observation equipment and seeks a detail-oriented Inside Sales candidate to match products to customer needs and prepare winning proposals. This role requires cross-functional coordination and effective communication.

Duties include developing product knowledge, preparing configurations and quotations, entering orders, coordinating pricing and shipping, and serving as the customer contact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant Inside or technical sales experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of products and solutions.
• Review and analyze customer requirements to determine best fit.
• Create customer proposals in compliance with company standards and contract language.
• Prepare configurations, equipment lists, clarifications and exceptions for other departments.
• Act as the customer contact regarding quotations, pricing, scheduling and shipping.
• Coordinate expediting activities to ensure accurate pricing, delivery and invoicing.
• Enter orders into the system for customers.
• Make pricing decisions based on standards.
