We are currently seeking a motivated and technically-minded professional to join our team as an inside sales specialist.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing new customer relationships, driving revenue growth through direct sales and distribution channels, and collaborating with our operations and engineering teams to deliver exceptional customer support and business growth.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Specialist will serve as a key liaison between customers, distributors, and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and operational excellence across all sales activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and qualify new sales leads generated through multiple channels, including website inquiries, trade shows, and business referrals.
- Proactively engage with prospects, determine optimal support channels, and track progress throughout the sales pipeline to ensure timely follow-up and conversion.
Direct Sales to Uncovered Accounts
- Identify, cultivate, and close business opportunities with viable customers not currently serviced by a Key Account Manager.
- Develop strong relationships and generate revenue from new accounts within the US market.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager and Astroscope Program Manager to support and expand sales through authorized distributors.
- Identify opportunities to onboard new distributors and provide ongoing support to maximize channel performance.
Product Demonstration Program Management
- Oversee the company's demonstration product inventory in collaboration with sales, operations, and engineering teams.
- Ensure appropriate demo units are available and properly allocated based on sales priorities.
- Manage the export demo logistics involved in the use of equipment outside of the US.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of demo equipment, including maintenance scheduling, deployment, returns, and tracking.
Sales Administration Coordination and Support
- Work closely with the Sales Administration team to ensure efficient order processing and invoicing, shipment coordination, sales reports, and customer communication.
- Provide backup coverage for sales administration functions as needed, maintaining an office presence on designated days.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated success in technical business development or technical sales
- Experience working with both direct and distribution sales models preferred
- Strong aptitude for learning complex technologies and product portfolios
- Proven ability to master product management systems and CRM platforms
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with customers and channel partners
- Demonstrated success in collaborative team environments, both internally and externally
- Is willing and able to work in our Fairfield office up to 5 days/week to minimum 3 days
