Job summary

CMC is seeking an inside sales professional in Pell City, AL to process orders, answer inquiries, and educate customers on product features. You will interact with customers by phone and email, ensuring accurate data, timely shipments, and high satisfaction while supporting the sales team.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years in an office sales setting, some SAP exposure, and strong communication, negotiation, and time-management skills. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 1‑5 years inside sales office experience.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Effective listening and verbal/written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and phone skills.
• Technical knowledge of company products.
• Solid problem solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process all customer transactions accurately and timely (sales orders, inquiries, quotes, returns).
• Obtain accurate information on shipment dates and delivery expectations.
• Educate customers about product features and benefits.
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints.
• Respond to requests for product and company information.
• Communicate shifts in demand to the operations team.
• Maintain proficiency in company software, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Present a professional image to customers and stakeholders.
• Support outside sales efforts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Process all customer transactions accurately and timely including sales orders, inquiries, quotes or returns

• Support outside sales efforts as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• 1‑5 years experience in an inside sales office environment
• SAP experience a plus
• Effective listening and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Negotiation and phone skills
• Technical expertise and knowledge of company products
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• High regard for attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
• Must have excellent time management skills

Your Education

• Bachelors degree preferred
