Job summary

Border States Industries, Inc. in Nashville, TN seeks an Inside Sales Representative to support the Customer Service team. You will promote sales, obtain orders, and deliver service to customers, leveraging product knowledge and industry practices to meet needs.

You will grow relationships with customers and suppliers, manage projects, enter orders, provide timely follow-up, and coordinate deliveries while resolving issues and assisting with billing as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's business/trade degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.
• 3+ years of prior customer service, city desk, or sales experience.
• 3+ years of prior electrical distribution experience preferred.
• Technical ability to understand electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), internet, and email.
• Working knowledge of SAP software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and enters orders accurately and timely.
• Optimizes margin and service through cross-docking, transfers, and drop-ship.
• Provides price quotes for existing BOMs and creates BOMs from take-offs.
• Manages projects and follows up on customer inquiries and order status.
• Secures pricing from vendors and coordinates/expedites deliveries.
• Processes returns to maximize value.
