Job summary

Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, generating sales calls, managing orders and deliveries, and maintaining stock levels on the floor and in the stockroom. 1-3 years in building materials and inside sales is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in building material industry with basic knowledge of product and application.
• 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, orders, prices, quotations, complaints, and scheduling deliveries/ installations.
• Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales.
• Enter work orders, credit returns, returns authorizations, and service requests; file paperwork accordingly.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products; obtain pricing specifications, uses and availability.
• Manage project schedules by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
• Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Research credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
• Check back orders and resolve outstanding issues; resolve billing problems and compile data for closing.
• Handle special orders and advanced pricing; assist with pricing and special price lists.
• Develop and grow professional relationships with customers.
• Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems.
