Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co. in Monmouth, IL is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors by providing quotes and product information in person, by phone, or online, while upholding safety and service standards.

You will handle orders, pricing, deliveries, and merchandising under the Retail Manager. The role requires strong product knowledge, good communication, and the ability to use the Bistrack POS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Prior sales experience in building materials is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, quotes, pricing, deliveries and installations.
• Enter orders and pricing into the POS system; balance cash and handle daily sales tasks.
• Assist with inventory, displays, and pricing labels; maintain showroom appearance.
• Build relationships with customers and contractors; support outside sales when needed.
• Develop basic estimating skills for project takeoffs.
