Job summary

Specialized Recruitment Group is seeking a detail-oriented, technically minded professional to support a sales team with estimates, pricing, and bid proposals in the Portland area. You will prepare cost estimates and bids using Excel, review drawings and project specs, and collaborate with sales, vendors, and engineers to ensure accurate quotes.

This role requires experience with estimating and inside sales, willingness to travel occasionally, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience in manufacturing or steel preferred.
• Experience in estimating, quoting, inside sales, or technical sales support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, pricing calculations, and bid proposals using Excel and other estimating tools.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope and support accurate quoting.
• Collaborate with sales representatives, vendors, and technical teams to gather information, confirm pricing, and resolve project questions.
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accurate pricing records, templates, and documentation.
• Track quote activity, turnaround times, and bid outcomes to support reporting and process improvements.
• Communicate with customers by phone and email to clarify requirements and follow up on proposals.
• Attend occasional trade shows, customer meetings, and job-site visits as needed.
