Job summary

The Impact You Will Make

When a contractor walks in the door or a customer calls with a small order, you are the person they meet first. This role owns walk-in and call-in projects from start to finish: you estimate costs, submit quotes, follow up, and see orders through until materials are delivered on time and the customer is taken care of.

It is one of the most visible roles in the company. You are the face of Midwest Door and Hardware to a steady stream of customers, and the relationships you build here directly shape how people experience us.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-in and call-in small order projects
• Estimate project costs, submit quotes, and follow up promptly under the direction of the Sales Manager
• Manage each project through its full life cycle, including change orders, product substitutions, and approvals
• Own project accuracy, cost management, and profitability on your orders
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Logistics to keep materials ordered and delivered on schedule
• Keep customers informed with accurate, timely communication throughout each project
• Schedule keying meetings with customers and locksmiths as needed
• Look for ways to improve how we work, beyond what is assigned

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 4 years of related work experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and genuine comfort working face to face with customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• The ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects at once
• Solid problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with bidding and ERP software (Comsense a plus)
• A self-starter mindset and the flexibility to work extended hours when a project calls for it

Today we are a team of more than 30 across Lincoln and North Platte, supplying hollow metal doors, frames, sidelights, wood doors, and hardware, standard and specialty, to contractors across Nebraska. Our fabrication shop customizes to job specifications rather than shipping stock, and we are the only commercial door and hardware company in the region offering cosmetic wood door repair.
