Job summary

Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support inpatient surgery. You will prepare sterile instruments, maintain the sterile field, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure safe procedures.

The role requires CST certification, an associate degree in surgical technology, and BLS; one year of perioperative experience is preferred. On-call availability and a rotating days/afternoons schedule are included.

Qualifications

• Must hold CST certification from NBSTSA, NCCT or TS-C per policy.
• Associate degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology is required.
• BLS certification preferred or required prior to independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Scrub during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepare sterile supplies, perform counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with draping and instrument delivery.
• Retrieve and label specimens accurately and communicate needs to team.
• Assist pre/post procedure cleaning and maintain aseptic technique.
• Support patient safety and adapt instrument requirements for diverse ages.
